Mi'Zauni is a proud first-generation student, pursuing degrees in Political Science–Public Service and African & African American Studies. The oldest of three, she strives to be a paragon of academic achievement, community advocacy, and Black excellence for her younger sisters, as she works toward a career in public policy.
Mi'Zauni's upbringing in the Sacramento and Oakland arts scene has shaped her passion for the arts and history. Her fervor for change within systemically marginalized communities influenced her various research projects, conducted through UCCS, the Transformative Justice and Education Center, and the Aggie Scholars Research Initiative, which centers equity in education. She has been a member of the UC Davis Cheer and Majorette teams, founded Boldly Black Women, a club for the uplifting and affirmation of Black women in higher education, and worked at the UC Davis Writing Center promoting communication and collaboration in writing. Currently, she serves as the Vice President of the Black Pre-Law Student Association, as well as a Student Advisor to the Chancellor, while maintaining her position in BBW and championing representation in academia.
