Student Advisors to the Chancellor

Claudia Avilez is a third-year Animal Science major, also pursuing a minor in Wildlife, Fish, and Conservation Biology. Claudia has participated in many internships and is currently a student intern at UC Davis’ Green Care Lab, which serves as a research lab that analyzes how animals can positively impact mental health for people. During the 2024-2025 school year, Claudia is holding a few leadership positions with UC Davis’ American Cancer Society and the Student Commuter Club. Claudia is also a peer mentor for the University Honors Program, to help guide incoming first-year honors students to a smooth transition into UC Davis Life and introduce them to resources on campus. Claudia wants to advocate for mental health for young individuals, as well as advocating for women’s rights, inclusivity, and empowering many other communities that feel their voice may not be heard.
