Student Advisors to the Chancellor

Dafne Velazquez Flores is a driven first-generation Mexican American with a double major in Philosophy with an emphasis in law, and Chicano Studies.  She values the importance of integrating culture into education, believing that one’s heritage plays a vital role in shaping academic and personal growth. As a Latina in higher education, Dafne has dedicated her undergraduate research to exploring the disproportionate representation of students of color on campus and improving the accessibility of resources that ensure their success. As an incoming representative at a large advocacy organization on campus, Dafne is excited by the opportunity to advocate for the inclusivity and empowerment of communities. She is driven by a passion to break out of echo chambers and enhance engagement through fostering more diverse and engaging environments.
